Romics oct 2017: Diabolik [part03]

I don’t know why in Romics we can find always new amazing Diabolik exhibit. This one was basically on Sergio Zaniboni drawer but there were a lot of interesting pieces. Diabolik is an icon of Italian comic and culture. Strange fate for a thief and assassin. Now I’m only waiting the new film.

Romics oct 2017: Statuettes [part02]

I like miniatures. Statuettes are a little related to them, so here there are assorted images about sexy ones, romantic ones, Dragonball, Grendizer, Gundam, Topo Gigio, evil nuns, Pop at collector prices.

Another Romics, the comic (and gadgets and cosplay) convention of Rome. The next one is in a month. So be ready. Even if the same days of Salute and Play Modena. Pity pity pity!

Here with a Coca-Cola with lime flavour. This comic convention is always the opportunity to taste weird drinks.

In these images it seems a pretty empty space but Romics is located in 5 pavilions and I used to visit it during the firsts days to avoid crowds. However there is a visitors lowering in numbers I think. In past years even these days were full of people. However more space diluted them and maybe they seem only less.

Gadgets, is full of gadgets.

Videocameras for the youtubers and esports.

Singing in Japanese.

Live action role play costumes by an association.

Weird drinks for courageous and mentally ill people.

A new kind of ice cream that Andrea ate in Ucraina. News even for us in Italy.

Sketches for us.

Hardware for comics.

Playtests

Some images of domestic playing sessions to playtest games by Ganesha Games, almost the only situation to play something. Here below Hexenhammer.

4 against darkness, but against a man-tiger.

Some game pieces by Narciso.

Hexenhammer again. I played almost 20 games until now.

Playtesting pizza.

Sellswords in a post-apocalyptical version made for Lucca Comics & Games, maybe even for you a day or another.

A grey alien hunt scenario for Palaeo Diet Ice Age.

More playtest in future posts…

Roma Wargame 2018

Another edition of Roma Wargame convention at Angelicum.

Mixed with a periodic fair for postcards, coins, medals collectors.

Even for us wargame collectors there was something. As painting services, miniature vendors.

Soldiers but of a different kind: 54mm for collectors. Wonder how they don’t think to play with them.

Even bigger: customised 1/6. I understand why they don’t think to play with them.

Something that we are used more: wargame tables.

A big, and partially playable, Ostia scenario.

Reunion, comics, Terni and Canino

Some different things under one post.

Another visit to Terni in Antani comicbook store. Palumbo was here again then he sketched for the public.

The day after we went to visit Narciso at his home in Canino. He is one of the members of our old club Legio Palatina. In the meantime a marathon was held under the windows of it. A little bit noisy is living next to the finish line. However we playtested SellSwords, eat pizza, and then playtested Palaeo Diet. No, pizza is not an allowed food in the Palaeo Diet.

Play 2018: our games

But what we did here? If it’s name is Play, then we played a lot.

Together with some mates of mine from Rome I tried some games as this confused one about pirates. I arrived at the 2nd place on 5 players even if I didn’t understand all the rules.

A game about our feelings and what others know about them. Played by a bunch of rude mates. Fun.

Tex Willer is an Italian western comic. I remember that when I was a child I played with another game based on Tex. This one it’s not so memorable.

Public playtest for a futuristic race game. Futuristic issue, I think.

Memoir ’44 in Normandy. A simple game with strategy. I destroyed the invaders. Next please.

An area was dedicated to 2D wargames. I tasted the water of 3 solitaire games about bombing Germany in WWII. At the end I bought a solitaire game about defending Germany from bombers in WWII. A different view.

While I was playing around, watching gladiators, visiting stands, speaking with friends and all this kinds of occupations, Andrea was mastering a Brazilian roleplay game that he translated in Italian. And in the free time playtested the witch hunt. Moreover he felt bad and vomited in the toilet. But those is another story. However, after Lucca Comics & Games, Play Modena is the annual appointment that I don’t want to miss anymore.

Play 2018: gladiators

Some live role players were around Play Modena. But the really great thing was to watch some gladiatorial fights by local Ars Dimicandi section. Moreover I follow a lesson on Medieval knife combat, with kinds of move, countermove and counter-counter move. I was distracted by other things so I couldn’t stay here to watch all, damn! I want to live more living history combat experiences.
