Back to September! A lot of things to do and so I’m late with reports of past events scheduling. Let’s begin with this game convention in Roma, the 20th of September.
T-shirts, hot weather (but rainy) and wargames in a sporting centre. All was mainly under a pavilion but other tables were around. Roman people is very individualistic so it’s almost impossible to organise something larger. However you could find a lot of people involved in local wargaming scene. Even from our region as this naval table from Latina.
Some local shops were present too. But not their customers. Not so great advertising for the event, as usual. Advertising means money and energy to spend, but without it means no people around. People organise events but doesn’t work on them properly. It is a matter of time and resources. Of mind too. However it is all volunteering work, so we must praise them in spite of everything. The problem for who is in the commercial side of wargaming and gaming is that everyone thinks to his garden and none thinks to spread garden culture. Events like this one must be the arrival of a common path, not a extemporaneous moment.
Children are the resource for the future of wargame, or what wargame will be in the future. Easy games were run for this. Great!

The Gundam club and a wargame with mobile suits. I have to find time to try it. This club is very involved in spreading Gundam culture. They participate to translation and adaptation of Gundam manga and anime in Italy.
Boardgame space run by Reindeers club. I think that adding boardgames players at this event would be a great thing. Wargame and boardgame are two different things but they are always “-game” with people who can enjoy both.

What for next year? I hope still this convention and more. Rome is a big city and I wish it as a great city for wargaming.
I’m back from Lucca Comics & Games. Alive. Great experience, as usual. Worth to wait a year for it. Under the photo of our stuff packed for the way to home. I’m so busy that I merely viewed photos that I picked there. And real life strike again, as problems with new home refurbishment and work. The blog suffer for this. I have to show conventions and things since late summer. I hope I find the time to do it in the next weeks. In the meantime I have new hobby projects as game writer for the next Play and Lucca. Here all the details. In the future 🙂
I waited for this day since a year. I’m on the train for Terni. Then last packing with Andrea. Motorway, four hours. At last, the walls of Lucca.

I’m returned from Empoli convention and I’m waiting for Lucca Comics&Games around the 1st of November. I playtested the new rules for venationes and now I have to write some changes. Ferrum et Gloria 2 is not ready yet, but some things are done now. I’m working on convention reports for this blog but in the following days there will be a server change, so I prefer to stop with new posts until I’m sure all is fine. So be patient. And have fun 🙂
During these days I’m presenting playtest rules for animals versus gladiators. I participated to RomaGioca and the DBA tournament, always here in Rome. In this moment I’m on the way for Romics, a big comic convention here in Rome. Then a trip to Terni to go to Empoli for a wargame convention during two days. The autumn is a convention season, so I travel around to show my Ferrum et Gloria together with Andrea for Ganesha Games. But the biggest event is the upcoming Lucca Comics & Games. Only a month to go. A 250000 people massacre for 4 days. I will write full reports for these events but now I’m in a hurry so you have to wait. However…
Have you recognised him? Ио́сиф Виссарио́нович Ста́лин in 1/6 action figure format. It is by DID. Overall quality as you see. Only the beret is a little large. I want it but my wallet is empty due to refurbishing works for my new house. Pity!
He was one of the greatest comic actors of France. Now an 1/6 action figure by DID is realised, with pyjamas or orchestra leader dresses. Strangely he is not know in all the World, so this piece is a gamble. But I think that French will buy it instantly. I wish the left head to put it at some soldiers of mine.
