Rogue Stars preorder

Mario Sisters played it in Lucca C&G and liked it very much. You can now preorder a signed paperback copy directly by Andrea, the author. Buying from Andrea means that you support his efforts to create games, because he can earn a living with direct selling. He will ship it at the start of December.

Rogue Stars is a character-based science fiction skirmish wargame, where players command crews of bounty hunters, space pirates, merchants, prospectors, smugglers, mercenary outfits, planetary police and other such shady factions from the fringes of galactic civilisation. Crews can vary in size, typically from four to six, and the character and crew creation systems allow for practically any concept to be built. Detailed environmental rules that include options for flora, fauna, gravity, dangerous terrain and atmosphere, and scenario design rules that ensure that missions are varied and demand adaptation and cunning on the parts of the combatants, make practically any encounter possible. Run contraband tech to rebel fighters on an ocean world while hunted by an alien kill-team or hunt down a research vessel and fight zero-gravity boarding actions in the cold depths of space – whatever you can imagine, you can do.

Free markers and blank characters cards are downloadable here:

New terrain – The seas just got more dangerous with a range of new terrain features including icebergs, volcanoes and assorted native islanders.

Advanced rules for flyers – Take the fight to the skies with advanced flying rules and new types of flyers, from Da Vinci inspired ornithopters and lace-pulp airships, to dragons, gryphons and flying carpets.

Romics spring 2016

So it is spring and time for another Romics, the comic fair of Rome.

Bigger every time but not so great and big as Lucca Comics & Games. However there were a lot of things to do and watch. 5 enormous pavilions to live. We started at the 10 in the morning and we left at 19 in the evening. And our feet were aching. As our wallets.

Here Andrea caught in the act as victim of a sinister comic seller. That people are terrible chaps…

Gadgets are sometimes more important than comics in comic fairs. Since a couple of years we are flooded by Funk vinyl toys. I watched hundred of them to find a Chrome Blue Flash for a friend of mine.

Romics is a place fulfilled with cosplayers. Sorry, I haven’t photos of young girls with costumes. Too busy with other things. But I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe…

Always in hormones topic, after mousepads with tits, smartphone covers with tits!

As usual, statuettes with big tits and asses. However this time I saw less art pieces as these around.

Another kind of statuette. On the right a Sturmtruppen, comic characters of some time ago by Bonvi.

Lego minifigs are huge numbers now. The collecting market take advantage of pieces from first series so some of them are now sold at 45€ each! But they are very cute.

Some lego bricks together.

This edition was dedicated to Go Nagai that was in Rome for a prize. In these days, in newspaper kiosks you can find new edition of statuettes, dvds and comics by Go Nagai.

Some original animation cells by Grendizer aka Goldrake Atlas Ufo Robot in Italy. This is like a religion for my generation.

Gadgets from 35 year ago. Among them, evaporators for heaters!

Other gadgets: sweets box and processed cheese. At that age I eat chupa chups and cream chocolate only to have gadgets with anime characters.

So, we have an interesting long weekend, an holiday at home. More Ganesha Games duties will be next. For another Romics we will wait Autumn.

Modena Play 2016

After 5 years I’m in Modena Play again. A lot of things changed in my life but some are always the same.

Here I’m with an anthology of adventures for roleplay game Kata Kumbas on Savage Worlds game engine. I’m one of the 8 authors. Out just for Modena Play. Read and play in an medieval Italy where Brancaleone da Norcia rode.

Modena Play is the annual appointment for boardgames and roleplays in Italy. Furthermore you can find card games, 2D wargames, 3D wargames, videogames, reenactment and cosplay. Players illustrate games so you can play with it freely after few minutes. And in these two days you could play even 20 games if you are an hardcore player.

While I was walking around I was approached by two chaps who were playing around. It is so simple to find mates to play here. So we formed a temporary player group of 3 people to play with what we could find around. This was a game about the management of Roman provinces.

Another game that we played was about the training to be a knight.

Sometimes there is someone that do it bigger.

Card games can be designed for adolescents with hormone storms. Like this one with an ass as advert. More sexy poses inside…

The ritual auction for games. Gems and garbage mixed in a crowded and fun moment.

I met Paolo in the fair! Now he is full involved with videogames as profession. Here he was in a play-by-play together with a mate of his. Good luck! ; )

A more traditional game than games on videos: a foosball table, but a very small one.

A more traditional game than foosball: wooden tops. Bigger ones were made on request with a lathe. Cool!

A more traditional game than top: war!!!

I found this book in the reenactment part of the fair on fighting with armour in ‘500. He is the curator of the modern edition of an ancient work. I bought Fluxx Cthulhu, MDF terraces for a new gladiatorial arena and 35 vallejo colours too.

After 5 years I could eat tigelle again, a kind of soft bread made with lard filled with a mix of lard and parmesan cheese. Available only in Modena. A long wait…

Here can view people who eat and the corridor between the two main pavilions. Moreover there were the upper storey, another pavilion and a tensile structure.

Unexpectedly you could find a lot of cosplayers around. A stage was setted for them. Every opportunity is good to show your costume. Even during the play of games.

And now some of the best cosplays that I picked from an unofficial photographic report of the event:

Next time Modena Play and wargaming!

Lucca C&G 2015: cosplay [part10]

This blog is mainly about my life experiences about miniatures world and what is related at it. And I mainly use photos that I took with my cameras (3 different since the beginning, 5 years ago). But on this post I’m using those that I found on the web. Because even if I saw some of these cosplays I hadn’t time to explore this world. Duties. But my report couldn’t be complete without cosplay. So enjoy what follows.

So it is all folks. I repeat myself: Lucca Comics & Games is a great thing and you can’t understand it even if you are present all manifestation days. Next year I want to be here again. The day after of this year edition I started the countdown for the next one. In the meantime it is Christmas time now. So no more November posts, we are arrived to December blog reports.

The wargame area: Miniature Island. Here we are mounting our 3D Authors space, the day before of the convention.

Lord and Dragons, fantasy skirmish rules by Sartori, mastered by Marco Guarnieri.

Andrea Torriani and the evolution of his WWII skirmish rules: Operation Overlord Evolution.

Valentino Del Castello, authorial element of Torriani authors staff.

Losi, another Torriani man.

Another Torriani game: Centuria. Mastered by Andrea Vitroni, chief of Clan Conan.

Clan Conan is the staff for wargame demonstrations open to all people. Instead with 3D Authors we look for wargame experts.

Berlin table built by Narciso of Clan Conan and Legio Palatina wargame club (my wargame club).

The new recruit for Clan Conan, together with cute ramen staff.

Instead of Mario Brothers, better Mario Sisters.

Wargame table with Dust rules. And a nazi ufo! I love it.

Vietnam!

Malifaux had a dedicated stand. And this table. GW and Mantic stands were just few paces behind.

The painters area where you could speak with painters and learn techniques. Here Luciano Molina at work.

Giovanni Bosio, the star painter of this area. And prizes won at various categories in the painting contest at this convention edition.

Lucca C&G 2015: Star Wars [part3]

This is a Roman amphitheatre, now a square. And inside it, the pavilion with the event theme of this edition: Star Wars.

However other Star Wars pavilions, shops and events were scattered in the city. Here an hooded Andrea as a Star Wars character.

Our preferred restaurant, “Gli Orti di Elisa”, changes in “Star Wars Restaurant”.

The cake called “May the Force be can you”.

An event based on the more numerous quantity of laser swords in a place.

Lego and Star Wars. I want a lego AT-ST walker for Christmas!

A weird kind of cosplay for Star Wars.

And a sexy one.

Romics 2015 autumn edition

Back to the 1st of October. Romics is the comic convention of Rome. It is held twice every year in Rome fair. However the buildings are sinking in the ground. Moreover Rome fair is sinking in debts. But be happy: Romics is a money war machine and we will have a Roman comic convention continuously.

We are always present in the convention the first of the four days, from opening hour to end. It is the less crowed. So we can spend money freely and talk to people. And we did it abundantly. But not so many naked female cosplayers around the first day. Pity.

This time the convention was exploded in five pavilions. It is a very huge convention with lots of people around, but without cultural events and publishing companies presence. It is only shops and cosplay.

More boardgames this year. But it is not an easy situation where you can play: too many people around that don’t know games and don’t want to know them. In a matter of fact, as Ganesha Games we are not interested to be here.

However our friends of Reindeers club are here every edition. Praise them and their efforts to spread gaming culture. And this is the last Zerloon realisation: Mad Max flick was out in that time. And roads needed warriors.

Speaking about cars, an exhibition about Diabolik. And his cars.

This time there were two interesting exhibition: one about Bruno Bozzetto work, and this one about an Italian comic legend. He is the “king of murder”. A fictional one, obviously.

Some original drawings on the walls. The cover of one of the first numbers and its modifications. Look at the Diabolik’s eyes. And on Lady Kant the sign of a patch to change lineaments of the girls in following editions.

Another original draw and another version.

The original cover of a new series.

Comic convention are not more a matter of comics. They are more based on merchandise and gadgets nowadays.

And all what is from Japan is classified as something comic related. Thanks to anime, and later to manga.

Stuffed animals are cute and related to comic convention. Too much girls around nowadays as comic fans. But this is good. And I bought one of them for my love.

More cute things. Doraemon as a superhero.

Statues. Costly enough. And 1/6 action figures by Kaustic Plastik. I need some Roman to add to my collection.

To close some statuettes. Males like them more than stuffed animals. I don’t know why.

Lucca C&G 2014: cosplay [part3]

If you are used to naked young women undressed as comics, videogames and anime characters, this is your post. But if you want to watch them you have to go on Istagram or Flickr because I hadn’t the time to take photos around. Yes, it is so sad…

Do you remember him? He is mr. Lo(s/d)i, the man that splept on the loo floor at Lucca 2012 because of Andrea habit to snoring like a train. After the shock he enlisted in Imperial Army.

A smart move because in the Imperial Army you can find these Sororitas.

On the left old style Imperial armour style, on the right a newer one.

However there were amazing cosplayers around. I took this photo while I was returning from food vendor that was optimally managed by local Red Cross. (Yes, to eat you needed a Red Cross service!) Just a moment and again in the Games pavilion crowd.

Here there are two cosplayers and a person with a real dress. Guess who was he among the three?

This is the “Gli Orti di Via Elisa” restaurant staff, our preferred restaurant in Lucca. Every year during Lucca C&G they work in costume! This time they were following the Assassin Creed theme: ‘700 in France. Very dedicated people!
