Let’s try Faustus Furius – 2016

In the 2016 I worked on Faustus Furius, the race game by Nic Wright. I suggested some rules for the book, later I translated it in Italian.
You can see here the first stage of my involvement with chariots made with simple paper and a track consisted of my mother table with a ruler.

Then I built together with my father 8 Roman chariots of the 4 colours. My mother sewed a track made of felted fabric: white for marble and yellow for sand. Here a playtest session with Diego & Diego.

And as addendum a playtest session in the same day for another game by Nic Wright: Blood, Sweat and Cheers.

I brought my fabric terrain and my chariots at conventions in Italy, as Lucca.

Maker Fair 2016

Lost post. It was October 2016, the same day of the Japanese market.
Among various things, and drones, a large proposal of 3D printers: giant ones, for chocolate, for pasta, for a reproduction of people through acquisition by a specialised cam. But plastic ribbon 3D printers was just a old technology in 2016, now is the plastic dust 3D printers moment. I took some macro photos: look at the difference in quality, loss of small steps, in the stormtrooper statuette.

Happy New Year!

Another year! Toward the future, looking back to the past, blogging about miniatures and life. The 2017 was the year without posts because of virus infection on server. I feel sad for this. A lot of work made during years stolen by fake Hogan sellers. I hope that now there will be no more problems. My websites are full operating: Leadaddicted, Ogam, Ferrum et Gloria, Legio Palatina. However I have got so little free time that I have to decide what to do with Leadaddicted blog. I think that posts are a fun thing to do, but it is all time that I subtract to rules writing and gaming. So only few posts will be published, just a couple every month. And I think to propose less text, because texts means time to write them. I want to show you what I did in these months. I still have to publish old stuff of 2016 and 2017, so this blog will be very asynchronous. Not so instant stuff as social media do. But this remains my blog and my personal journal on line.

I’m still busy with my new house, it is a neverending effort. And in the meantime I’m writing a sequel for Palaeo Diet. After I have to work on FeG II. I say no more because all programmes are subject to real life duties. I hope to have fun. Enjoy 2018!

Happy New Year!

Another year! Toward the future, looking back to the past, blogging about miniatures and life. But, for the first time, posts weren’t published in the last weeks. I have problems with the server and its capability to be infected by various kinds of viruses. Maybe the infection is spread inside the databases too, so I have to reconstruct all my websites. I have to work on it. Basically now my space is a place where you could be infected. And I don’t want to publish new posts to attract potential victims. Moreover these days were so intense that I haven’t time to write posts. My new house, conventions, real life work, friends, totally absorbed all my time. So I have materials to show to you but I don’t have a secure place and the time to do it.
Some new things I think we will see in 2017: three Ganesha Games’ kickstarters, Ferrum et Gloria II, maybe a Viking game and a roleplay, a trip to Salute, my participation to various conventions, my new bedroom. What will really happen? You will know reading these pages, if they still exist. In the meantime, Happy New Year!

Colosseum at night

I started this blog to promote my gladiatorial rules. And my interest in gladiators is because I’m born in Roma. Everyday, on the way to work, I pass with the underground train only a few metres under the arch.

Winter suddenly followed an humid Summer. In a cold night of mid October we went to a free visit of the arena. Some light effects but nothing particularly thrilling. And a really quick visit. A different story when my father take me here at the age of 7.
I wished to visit more. Now you can access to subterraneans and terraces. There is a little exhibit too. But during the day there are too many tourists. Pity.

My friend seems the Charon god with these lights…

Gioco & Storia 2016

Piana delle Orme is a huge museum in the reclamation of swamps under Rome towards Naples. We are almost at the South confines of wargaming Italy. But when people organise themselves and put their efforts all together, they can create a convention as this one.

The convention was for two days but we went only the first one. A Twilight Struggle tournament around. I like this game and I’m thinking to buy it. The only real obstacle is that I have to find a mate to play with it.

WWII skirmish wargame for beginners, sold as boardgame.

We met again with Wings of War creator.

A mate from Perugia and optical issues.

Small cardboard pieces as an army. I begin to play wargames with this kind of games. 30 years ago… OH MY GOD !!! 30 YEARS AGO !!!!!

And some years before I was playing with paper soldiers…

And with these we are more than 30 years ago, maybe 40-43 years ago.

The main plate of this convention was a long conference with Lost Battle author. Organisers want to give this convention a more scientific approach with speeches of international experts on how to simulate fights and wars. Very intersting.

And some people were interested in our table too.

Another occasion to show Faustus Furius with its temporary terrain.

Turns are very dangerous. I’m preparing destroyed chariots, I think I need them very often…

And now a video with Philip Sabin, an interview about his method and work.

Empoli Games 2016: second part

After an overview of what was around, in this post close-ups on miniatures in Empoli Games.

A kit for a temple in 1/72 scale. I have to do something just like this in 28mm. One year or another.

Always in 1/72 scale, some gods.

Why I need a temple? To put decency to a terrain with this kind of troops. Large amounts of ancients…

Skirmish with Japanese people. By a comrade of military service times, then a wargamer.

I know little about this epoch but something as this one let me a desire to know more.

Masses and a terrain like a military map. Large scale wargame at its best.

MDF changes wargames terrains. Far West with a lot of wood as it seems to was.

Building a Ratte. A lot of plastic instead of steel.

Beautiful and dirty Shermans on sale. I must build one for the Battle of Rome.

A scene from the war in Africa. With Folgore artillery.

WWI and treches.

Russians want to conquest a Lidl store (on the top at centre in the photo)

Italian tanks in Italy.

A lot of Germans and a Stuka above.

More of the same war but in a colder place.

To end, a bunch of Orks.
